A test Legislative Theatre platform for an imaginary future process
Introduction
This space is a hands-on introduction to participatory democracy and collective decision-making. It has been created as part of a workshop exploring how digital tools can support dialogue, creativity, and public participation.
Here, participants can experience the core features of a democratic participation platform by proposing ideas, commenting on the proposals of others, expressing support, and collectively shaping priorities. The goal is not simply to learn a digital tool, but to explore how ideas move from individual reflections to shared conversations and, ultimately, to collective action.
Throughout the workshop, you are invited to:
→ Submit proposals that respond to the challenges, questions, or opportunities discussed during the session.
→ Explore and react to proposals created by other participants.
→ Comment, ask questions, and build on the ideas of others.
→ Identify connections, tensions, and possibilities across different perspectives.
→ Reflect on how proposals could be implemented, monitored, and made accountable over time.

The UK Legislative Theater (LT) Network Hackathon is a groundbreaking initiative under, where creativity and policymaking converge to reimagine democratic processes. This speculative future envisions storytelling and collective dialogue as essential mechanisms for reshaping the legislative process. By dramatizing critical societal challenges, the Hackathon immerses participants—citizens, lawmakers, and activists alike—into scenarios that reveal the human impact of policy choices, fostering deeper understanding and empathy.
Platoniq plays a pivotal role in contributing to this pilot under the INSPIRE project umbrella, leveraging its expertise in participatory tools and methodologies to enhance inclusivity and accessibility. Drawing on the principles of intersectional inclusion, Platoniq integrates cutting-edge digital tools—such as Decidim—to facilitate collaboration, ensure transparency, and provide a structured space for deliberation and accountability. These tools enable participants to document, refine, and track contributions in real time, bridging the gap between ideation and implementation.
Through Platoniq's support, the Hackathon becomes more than just a participatory event—it transforms into a dynamic, replicable model of legislative innovation. The pilot prioritizes marginalized voices, embedding their lived experiences into every stage of the process.
